THE HISTORY OF MODERN OLYMPIC GAMES

TIMELINE
September-October 2024 (3 weeks)

TYPE
UX/UI Design
OVERVIEW

The History of Modern Olympic Games is an educational, interactive web focused on the narratives throughout the Olympics' history from ancient to modern. This project was specifically ideated and developed to educate the younger audience to inform them how rich the Olympics is with history, diversity, evolution, etc.

CHALLENGE AND SOLUTION

For this senior capstone project, students were tasked with creating websites for both desktop and mobile views, highlighting significant historical events of their chosen topics. The main goal of the project was to select a target audience and design an articulate, interactive webpage that not only provides information but also focuses heavily on creating a positive, user-friendly experience tailored to that audience. To ensure easy navigation and a positive user experience, it was essential to balance detailed historical content with engaging visuals, quizzes, and clickable elements. Both desktop and mobile views were optimized, ensuring easy navigation and a seamless experience across devices.
TARGET AUDIENCE

The main audience for this website is high schoolers aged 14-19. Since the website contains detailed information about the history of the Olympic Games, it was essential to select an audience capable of understanding the complex historical, cultural, and political aspects of the Olympics. Additionally, learning about Olympic history could inspire high schoolers to explore potential careers in fields such as sports management, history, or international relations.
